Role Overview

We are looking for a proactive, digitally savvy Internet Sales Specialist to generate inbound leads and drive marketplace activity through online communities. This role focuses on engaging with buyers in Facebook groups, forums, Discord servers, subreddits, and industry-specific communities, as well as responding to comments and messages on Gearsupply’s social media pages. You’ll promote inventory, match buyers with listings, and collect contact information to route into our CRM for follow-up by our sales team.

This is a great role for someone who is social, persuasive, and comfortable having many online conversations across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Community-Based Sales Outreach

  • Participate in AV-related online communities to identify buying opportunities and promote relevant inventory.
  • Comment, post, and reply to people who are actively seeking gear.
  • Build a helpful, trustworthy presence in each community while respecting group norms.

Social Media Engagement

  • Monitor comments, replies, and DMs across Gearsupply’s social platforms.
  • Respond quickly and clearly to questions about products, pricing, availability, and logistics.
  • Direct potential buyers to listings and encourage them into the sales pipeline.

Lead Capture & CRM Handoff

  • Gather names, contact details, and product needs from interested prospects.
  • Enter qualified leads into the CRM with accurate notes.
  • Ensure smooth handoff to sales reps for follow-up and closing.

Marketplace Awareness

  • Stay aware of new listings, high-demand inventory, and trending product categories.
  • Promote featured or fast-moving items across appropriate groups and communities.
  • Identify common buyer requests and share insights with the sales and marketing teams.

General

  • Maintain a friendly, professional online voice that aligns with Gearsupply’s brand.
  • Manage multiple conversations simultaneously.
  • Meet weekly targets for engagement and lead generation.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Qualifications

  • Excellent American English communication skills — clear writing, correct grammar, and a natural, conversational tone.
  • Spanish language skills are a strong bonus (reading, writing, or conversational).
  • Experience with Facebook groups, forums, and other online communities.
  • Experience in technical equipment sales.
  • Strong organizational skills and comfort handling many conversations at once.
  • Previous experience with CRM systems (HubSpot preferred) is a plus.
  • Friendly, approachable communication style with a strong sense of online etiquette.

Additional compensation: R1000 per lead with a qualified conversion
