Under general supervision of the Associate Director, Marketing & Publications, the Marketing Coordinator is responsible for the development and implementation of marketing plans, advertisements, promotional and print material, and catalogs and newsletters. This role will assist with content management, website creation and social media strategy development. Responsibilities will also include interpreting data, formulating reports, and making recommendations on marketing opportunities and improvements.

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule with the option of up to two remote working days per week upon completion of the training period. Residence must be within the Cincinnati Tri-State area (OH/IN/KY) with reasonable distance to campus to have the ability to report to campus as required. Remote work arrangements are subject to change in accordance with university policies.

Type of Appointment: Full-Time (12 Months)

Work Location: Hybrid. Office location is 336 Teachers-Dyer Complex on UC’s main (Uptown) campus.

Essential Functions

  • Develop, coordinate, implement and revise marketing plans and promotional materials.
  • Manage own projects and guide team members and student interns through associated tasks
  • Develop customer and department profiles, plan ads and media mix.
  • Assess, develop and coordinate public relations campaigns.
  • Monitor, track and evaluate results; recommend changes.
  • Compile, update and report marketing data related to advertising and marketing programs.
  • Assist with the design, layout and writing of print materials.
  • Prepare/submit for approval budget and quarterly revision.
  • Recommend cost containment proposals where applicable.
  • Coordinate/evaluate bidding process regarding advertising and promotional materials.
  • Monitor progress/quality of bid packages.
  • Ensure student artists meet quality and style work standards.
  • Determine program schedules, deadlines, etc.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Education, Graphic Arts, Liberal Arts, Marketing, or related field.
  • Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

One (1) year of experience in development and implementation of marketing and/or advertising plans.

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Experience in developing a social media strategy and editorial calendar to promote college events and efforts.
  • Experience in copywriting for email, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and the creation of college-wide news stories.
  • An understanding of a website’s content management system.
  • Some experience in event planning.
  • Basic graphic design skills in either Adobe Creative Cloud or Canva.
  • Basic experience in multimedia such as photography and videography.

Salary/Hourly Pay Rate Information: $48,000 - $55,000
