About the UC Blue Ash Career Services Department

The mission of UC Blue Ash Career Services is to deliver innovative career experiences through engaging in experiential learning activities that prepare students for the workplace. Career Services does this by providing best-in-class career education, interactive workshops, and by building strategic employer partnerships.

The goals of Career Services are aligned with UC Blue Ash and the University’s strategic direction. These include:

Job Overview

The Career Services Intern position provides the foundation for service and outreach to students seeking career support. This position will work alongside UC Blue Ash Career Services staff to better support students in their career development. The Career Services Intern will provide administrative support for both the Co-Op and the Job Shadow programs and will engage with a variety of on-campus and external partners. This is a high-impact position requiring a proactive, team-oriented, conscientious professional interested in direct student service.

This is a part-time student position designed to require approximately 10-12 hours per week. May occasionally include evening or weekend work. The position pays $14 per hour. This position, pending availability, could include some opportunities for additional hours depending on program, events, and presentation needs.

Optional Co-Op Course Policy:
If you wish to be enrolled in the UC Blue Ash Co-Op Program, you must take the course: MLTI 2020: Co-Op Experience. The course provides academic-based contemplation and course assignments to guide the student in reflection and integration of skill development. This course is currently offered in the Spring and Fall semesters. Student Associates are not required to complete this course as it is optional. The course is only required if you also wish to be apart of the co-op program.

Essential Functions

College-wide Data & Communication Implementation

  • Design and implement communication projects, including but not limited to social media, emails, and newsletters, to campus partners including faculty, staff, students, and employers
  • Create, maintain, and update Career Services handouts, both online and in person
  • Manage a personalized partnership, with a focus on relationship building, with campus partners
  • Develop engaging and relevant workshop content; create written and digital career education resources
  • As needed, present to student groups, organizations, and classes on topics such as Career Services programs and services, resume writing, interviewing strategies, job searching, Handshake, LinkedIn, etc.

Programs & Events

  • Coordinate with staff member(s) to assist with Career Services events, including career fairs, and employer visits
  • Assist with online initiatives – workshops, social media, and career services emails
  • Assist students in how to navigate career resources (hard copy and online)
  • Support the Co-Op and Job Shadowing programs in a variety of ways, including administrative support, organization, and communication
  • Other event and program duties as assigned


Special Projects & Administrative Responsibilities

  • Support the daily operations of Career Services
  • Support (and develop) career-related projects within the various functional areas of Blue Ash Career Services based on interest and skills
  • Maintain effective communication with full-time faculty and staff, and other student employees
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Enrolled at least part-time at UC or will be a registered student during the next academic term.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Completed at least one semester as a student at UC Blue Ash
  • Minimum GPA: 3.0
  • Experience providing excellent customer service, managing data, and/or keeping records
  • Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback
  • Strong communication, presentation and teamwork skills
  • Belief in the importance of experience-based learning and career education

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Student has previously worked with or interacted with the UCBA Career Services department or has worked with one of our Peer Career Coaches, etc.

Hourly Pay Rate: $14.00
