The University of Cincinnati James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy Division of Pharmacy Practice and Administrative Sciences is seeking an assistant professor with expertise in pharmacogenomics, precision medicine, genomic medicine, or related fields.
The University of Cincinnati provides a highly collaborative environment for advancing research, education, and clinical implementation in pharmacogenomics and precision medicine. Faculty have opportunities to collaborate across the James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy and the broader Cincinnati academic and healthcare community, including the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, University of Cincinnati Academic Health Center, UC Health, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, and St. Elizabeth Healthcare. These partnerships provide opportunities for interdisciplinary research spanning pharmacogenomics, genomics, clinical and translational research, implementation science, and personalized healthcare.
The College offers established educational programs, including the PharmD program, online master’s and certificate programs in Pharmacogenomics and Personalized Healthcare, and PhD programs. These programs provide a strong educational platform for innovative teaching, graduate student mentorship, and development of educational and scholarly initiatives in precision medicine.
We welcome applications from clinical pharmacists and qualified faculty candidates with the potential to develop and/or expand a productive scholarly program in pharmacogenomics, precision medicine, genomic medicine, outcomes research, implementation science, or related clinical and translational sciences.
Candidates applying pharmacogenomics or precision medicine across a broad range of therapeutic areas and healthcare settings are encouraged to apply. Areas of interest may include but are not limited to oncology, psychiatry and behavioral health, cardiovascular medicine, pediatrics, and ambulatory care.
The ideal candidate will be expected to collaborate with the division of pharmaceutical sciences faculty and other units across the University who are currently pursuing extramurally funded cutting-edge pre-clinical/translational/early phase clinical pharmacology studies in oncology, neuropharmacology and drug delivery systems.
A structured mentoring programming will be available for the candidate to foster scholarship of teaching and research. These include university-wide workshops on pedagogy and grant writing.
The faculty member will have responsibilities in the areas of teaching, scholarship, and service. Although not expected, opportunities may also be available for qualified candidates interested in establishing a clinical practice site providing pharmacogenomics services.
